"Our wedding at Principal Park was a great experience.  All of the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and caring when it came to our wedding day.  KC and Brandi were especially helpful when it came down to executing exactly what we were looking for and were key to making it all go smoothly.  They were also very willing to help out with our photographer, florist, and DJ making sure that they were setup and getting what they were looking for.  Overall the wedding day was entirely stress free for us as the bride and groom.  We have been receiving compliments about the entire event for the entire year and a half that we have been married.  We would definitely recommend Principal Park as a great wedding venue."

"Baseball/softball has always been a big part of my life and my (now) husbands as well. We met playing softball, he proposed to me at the field where we met, so it was only natural that we would get married on a field. We decided to go with Principal Park because it was the nicest field in the Des Moines area. It was hands-down one of the best decisions we ever made. It was memorable and a unique idea that fit us both as a couple perfectly. The event coordinator, KC, was phenomenal. From day one, she worked with us and made sure everything ran smoothly. Not only did we get to have the wedding there, but we also got to take our engagement photos there as well. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone thinking this is something you'd like to do. For the money, it was worth it (we did the on-field option at home plate). The nice thing about the stadium is that there is no decorating necessary. The entire field offers wonderful backdrops for photos and it will leave you and your guests with a new perspective on different weddings."

"It feels like just yesterday we were getting married. We had a wonderful experience having our wedding at Principal Park. We were grateful to have wonderful weather on October 8th. I can't remember the staff member who helped us during rehearsal and the wedding day but she was great. The only small complaint I would have is there was no light in the bathroom in the dugout so we all had to use it with the door open right before the ceremony started. Other than that, we had the most amazing day!
Thank you so much for letting us have a once in a lifetime wedding at Principal Park. We will never forget it and neither will our guests."

"Principal Park and the Iowa Cubs Club were the perfect wedding venue and reception for us!  As baseball fans we took advantage of the ceremony on the field and happen to time it just right in October to watch the Cubs clinch to the World Series at the club on our wedding night!

The wedding was just what we wanted... a warm sunny fall day and about 75 friends wearing their favorite team gear.  The staff was great, setting us up pre-wedding with separate suites for guys and gals to hang out and prepare for the wedding.  We rehearsed and took pics on the field beforehand, as well.  There are many great photo opps from field, dugout, to the capitol back-drop!  The kids (big and small) enjoyed getting to be on the field and front row behind home plate for the ceremony!

Following the ceremony, we made the short walk to the Cubs Club down third base line.  The venue was set up by staff and decorated with our center pieces (baseball themed).  We had lots of options for food and drink, but chose an open bar and a casual buffet heavy on appetizers.  The meatballs, chicken strips, and spinach dip were amongst the fan favorites.  We also had some ballpark faves like peanuts.  The food was excellent and the staff estimates came pretty close with just a bit of extra!

A memorable addition to our reception was our special guest... the Cubbie Bear!  He earned his keep playing bags with the kids, as well as Simon Says on the patio.

Throughout the reception we had our slide show on the big screen and brought our own music. TVs were flipped on once everyone tuned in at game time.

Service was great throughout the event from beginning to end!

Thank you!

"I absolutely loved our reception venue. It was so much fun and Randy was so incredibly easy to work with. You can tell from the moment you meet him that he is experienced in putting on big scale events and I had total confidence that he would deliver on everything he said. Itwas great! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. Can’t recommend it enough (especially if you are a baseball fan). Just a note, while the Cub Club can accommodate over 150 people, it will not have a big formal ballroom type atmosphere. There are several rooms you can use to accommodate this number. This was perfect for us because we wanted to keep people moving. Just to let all of you know that if you want everyone to sit down and eat in one room with all eyes on you then you would need to have a cap of no more than 100 in order to accomplish that at the Cub Club. Again, this was perfect for us and Randy has hosted many formal receptions so he can work with you on what you want."
